ALASKA

Wasilla
Evangelos Trattoria is located about 40 Parks Highway right off the road and they have been making great pizza since the 1990s when their location was smaller and over by Tub n Tan. If I want a pizza while I'm home this is the place I order from.

Anchorage
Moose's Tooth has long been a favorite ever since their humble beginnings and it has been great to watch their business grow over the years. My favorite dishes are the hot sub sandwich, just about any pizza, and the Sun dried tomato chicken salad. Their sister business - Bear Tooth Grill serves a slightly more upscale business and I enjoy the burgers there along with the garlic cheese fries. The beer at both of these places is fantastic - and they promote great music in Alaska - thanks Tooth. Blues Central/Chef's Inn has a killer French dip sandwich that is worth the stop. Humpys used to have the best fish taco in town, while Middleway Cafe had the best chicken tacos (taco tuesday) however, both have gone down in quality the last few times I've sample my favorite dishes.

Homer
Fat Olives is a greek restaurant that will make your mouth melt with joy - their pizzas are amazing.

Fairbanks
Pad Thai restaurant near The Marlin / College Coffeehouse area always seems to impress. Buddy H.B. Telling's personal favorite is Lemongrass but I personally think their dishes are average.

Kenai
.406 Sportsman's Lodge is a pretty bland/average place to dine in Kenai, until you taste the food. The burger is hefty, and the specialty stews are prepared with love and are absolutely scrumptious. If ANDY is available, tell them you want what Caribou Bill had.

Phoenix
Spinato's Pizza (4 locations) is a family owned restaurant that serves the best pizza IN THE UNITED STATES. Of course this is only my humble opinion but I've tried Chicago deep dish, New York thin, wacky gourmet all over and nothing beats Spinatos. I like them so much I have a shirt and have posed in photoshoots wearing their shirt. They have a soft spot for Caribou Bill. After raving about their pizza to a tattooed, wife beater wearing spanish-american at a party, I found out that he was the manager, and his boss was also at the party, along with various wait staff. After a few more beers it didn't take long before we were all piled into a few trucks to get down there and make some late night pies for the whole party. This was the night of one of the best prank phone calls ever pulled on Patrick Porter, a Seattle friend, who upon the conclusion of the phone call thought he was going to be guesting on a rapper's new record with his pedal steel.

Scottsdale
Mandala Tea Room is a cozy little hole in the wall with some of the healthiest, most delicious food in the area. Their tea is top notch, along with their salads, vegan friendly.

Prescott
Raven Cafe is my haunt when I'm in Prescott - they have live music, five star chefs, a killer selection of beer and wine, and really, there's no reason to go anywhere else. I have been extremely impressed with the food here.

Flagstaff
Martans Burrito Palace right in the heart of downtown Flagstaff serves one of the best plates of Mexi-breakfast I've ever had - their huevos rancheros will fill you up for the entire day.

  OREGON

Portland
Thai Ginger restaurant up near St.Johns/College district that makes what I consider to be the best pad thai ever - hot, succulent, melt in your mouth kind of pad thai. I had ordered a special from the board of black pepper pork that was amazing, but we all ended up serving it up family style. I was introduced to this place by my friend Roy Swice, thanks for the tip.

Eugene
Sam Bonds Garage has a really fantastic whole wheat crust for their pizzas that make it a bit different than your average pizza experienece - I highly recommend this for its live music friendliness, pizza, and beers. Evergreen Indian Restaurant has one of the best indian lunch buffets your will ever taste - and for about $10 you will not be hungry for the rest of the day - thanks for the tip Swift.

Ashland
Wiley's World Pasta & Eatery is a cute little restaurant where you can get a giant plate of pasta that will satisfy your craving.

IDAHO

Boise
The Front Door, right below the Reef, has this meatball sandwich that will make your mouth water - the homemade bread is the key and you will taste a difference. Any sandwich from this place is divine, and they have a great beer selection as well. Goldys is a popular breakfast place that won me over with the mushroom frittata and their amazing menu, great coffee, and service. Expect a wait on weekend mornings. Bittercreek Alehouse is right downtown and serves up a hearty hamburger, etc. They have a new sandwich on the menu called the Chicken Wiseguy that will blow you away. Casbah serves up fine mediterranean cuisine and is best known for their amazing hummus plate.

  CALIFORNIA

Los Angeles
LA is one of those places that has everything you'd ever want, many locations to choose from, and the best of the best in all genres. I will try to narrow it down a bit. In the Los Feliz area, I really enjoy the restaurant Home, which has a great menu, large plates, and great service. Over in Silverlake there's a ton of great spots, but I enjoy that Thai restaurant right down the road from Silverlake Lounge where you can bring in your own wine. For fast food, they've got plenty of late night burrito joints that can even you out after a long night of drinking and also they have Zankou Chicken, a cheap, delicious greek fast food joint that the band Jupiter Sunrise introduced me to.

San Diego
Did somebody say burrito? All I do when I'm in San Diego is sample the burritos everywhere I go. One place (can't remember) had one the size of my forearm for $3. You can't go wrong, just ask some locals.

San Francisco
Yet another city that seems to have everything. I can't recall anything that stands out to me right now, but Cha Cha Cha has great drinks. In fact, there are too many cool bars in this city.
